Nexen restarts output at largest UK North Sea oil field Buzzard Nexen said Monday it had restarted production from the UK's largest producing oil field,Buzzard,after a three-week unplannedshutdown to repair corroded facilities.
"Now that the repairs have been completed to the topsides pipework,Nexen has safely restarted production on Buzzard,"the company,said in a statement.
Buzzard produced around130,000b/d of crude in the first six months of2018and feeds the UK's main export stream,Forties.It accounts for around13%of UK oil production,or about30%of Forties flows,loaded at the Hound Point terminal in eastern Scotland.Much of the crude has been sold in Asian markets in recent years.
